POGIL Workshop Details
What is POGIL?
POGIL stands for Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning. The POGIL classroom "consists of students working in small, self-managed teams on specially designed guided inquiry materials. These materials supply students with data or information to interprets, followed by guiding questions designed to lead them toward formulation of their own valid conclusions-essentially a recapitulation of the scientific method."
Workshop Structure
The interactive and hands-on workshop included sessions for faculty to not only learn the POGIL method but to also experience the method as a student. Sessions also included how to effectively create teams, design activities, and cultivate an environment of cooperation.
